Supervision
I offer individual and group supervision to those in the caring profession
to enable helpers, mostly counsellors but including other professionals
such as health visitors or social workers, to provide sensitive and
responsive help to their clients.
I regard supervision as a relationship where all is open to question.
With trust and curiosity together we can reflect on the client, their
needs and what happens in the relationship between the helper and the
client. By looking at “what is” rather than matching interventions
to right or wrong we can learn about what helps the client to achieve
their goals. Any concerns explored honestly will enable the supervision
to hold the interests of the client at all times and will enable you,
as a therapist, to develop and learn so you work in both a potent and
safe way.
As supervisee you will reflect on yourself acknowledging your strengths
and also exploring your needs. We may discuss theory to inform the work.
We may notice how your clients impact on you to ensure that you are
appropriately available for your clients in a sustainable and fulfilling
way for all involved.
We would explore your supervision needs and contract appropriately
modelling the importance of agreeing with clients what they hope for
from the therapy. We would evaluate the supervision at regular intervals
again modelling the importance of evaluating the work with clients.
I offer a free half hour assessment appointment to help us both decide
whether we are the right match. Please give me a ring on 01903 230484
