What I offer

Couples counselling depicted by a valley between two mountains

Couples Counselling

I aim to support you to work through painful feelings and open to a deeper understanding of yourselves and your relationship. I facilitate the space to create safety and to help you learn how to love each other in a way you feel loved. I aim for you to feel empowered to make healthy choices in your relationship.

Counselling as contemplation

Counselling

Counselling offers a space for you to feel and think about your life in the company of another human being. It seems so simple, but I have known it to be powerful because when you feel safe and accepted you can face into your experience and understand your needs and feelings without judgement.

Supervision as a top down view from the mountain

Supervision

I am passionate about supervision and view it as a relationship where all is open to question. Together we will create a space for trust and curiosity so that we can wonder about what the client brings and how the work unfolds holding in mind the client, you the therapist, the context and the spaces in between.

“When the waters of a lake are still, they can reflect the face of the moon without distortion. But when the wind blows, making ripples and waves, the reflection of the moon is broken up and distorted.  The usual way we see things is like that – all in bits and pieces, broken up, twisted.”

About my experience

The ultimate value of counselling for me is the risk that both counsellor and client take to meet each other on a human level to share and appreciate the experience of living.  I have been a counsellor for over 20 years and am reminded over and over of the value and power of sharing our experience to discover new perspectives, health and thrive.

I just wanted to formally thank you for all your help, support and genuine empathy over the last 13 months. I feel like my journey with you has always been a safe one and the knowledge that I was in such safe, kind hands has been fundamental to my progress.
